Workout: Shape yourself

If you had a magic genie that could grant you three wishes, what would they be?  Most of us might wish for financial gain, maybe even love, success, better health or a sexier beach body.

The tale of the magic genie is an old fairy tale but deep inside yourself there is a magic genie that could grant your wishes if given the opportunity.

This genie can be called self-determination.  Self-determination or drive is what differentiates the successful from the unsuccessful.  Acknowledging your goals, developing a plan and following through will help decrease the space that stands between our present state and our aspirations.
Follow these steps to begin shaping yourself today:

  1. Acknowledge the discrepancy – recognize who you are now and who you’d like to be
  2. Brainstorm – identify the qualities and skills necessary to be the person you’d like to be
  3. Strategize – determine the steps necessary to make the change
  4. Initiate – put your plans into action
